Christology is foundational to Christian maturity! (Heb 6:1)

               1. Not moving from but so ingrained and integrated into our life and thoughts that everything one does is informed by this truth.
               2. Translated a variety of ways
                  1. Literal words are “the beginning word/message/argument of Christ” (Mk 1:15, Lk 4:18-19, Jn 1:39, 43)
                  2. Elementary Christian message/What Christ preached (Mk 1:15)
                  3. Elementary Christian teaching (Heb 6:2-3, Catechisms)
                  4. The message about Christ (Heb 1-5)
                     1. Christocentric Scripture Reading
                     2. Christ as sacrifice
                     3. Christ as priest
                     4. Christ as king
                     5. Christ as brother
                     6. Christ as Son
                     7. Christ as Greater than Moses
                     8. Christ as Divine

What happens when the foundation of Christology is missing from a Believer?

1. 1. 1. 1. 1. Legalism or Licentiousness
            2. Absence of Incarnation (Col 1:27, Jn 1:14)
            3. Absence of Crucifixion & Resurrection (2Cor 5:14-15)
            4. Absence of Ascension (Jn 16:7-10, Gal 5:23-24, 1Cor 12, Rom 12)

Basic Christology is the foundation to maturity
